iPhone 15 Pro Photos are Dark

Pictures are coming out darker after being taken with the front & back cameras. Compared with the iPhone 14 Pro & the iPhone 14's photo looks better. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing with their new iPhone 15s or knows the fix to this? This is frustrating since I need to take photos & videos for work.

The only way I can get my image to look the same in the photos app and elsewhere is to Go to Settings -> Photos-> and toggle OFF View Full HDR. This shows the image as you can expect it to look outside of the photo app when exporting. You just lose all the lovely HDR brightness and contrast. Still very disappointing.

I have been following this thread for weeks and there are new comments everyday it seems, so disappointing that this issue has occurred.. I couldn’t handle it anymore and ‘downgraded’ to the iPhone 13 Pro, I didn’t go for the 14 as I had read about similar issues with some of those also.. I haven’t yet received my 13, but I’m hoping it will be better than this piece of garbage😤 Extremely annoyed Apple..!! And have been telling everyone I see about my frustrations/hopefully I have prevented some people from buying one of these awful things.

Hi Alexandra, I am glad to hear that you got the 13 and you are happy with it. Yes I was able to open the link and read about the 14 pro too. Looked like it had the same problem. How come Apple hasn’t fixed it since the problem accrued from 14 pro! Anyway, thanks ever so much for saving me buying the 14 pro max. I will get 13 pro max. Will you be able to tell me where you purchased your 13 pro from? Apple doest’t sale them anymore and everywhere I looked they are all refurbished! I am so frustrated about this phone.

Thanks

Hi Salina! Oh that’s good that you were able to check out that link, it definitely sounds like the same problem doesn’t it.. But I don’t understand how the majority of users can say the cameras are fantastic?🤔 And like you said, if the 14’s had this issue, then why make the camera the same/similar again..!? I can’t understand it.. maybe the majority of users just aren’t ’particular’ about their photos and don’t really notice any difference.. I am in Australia, I’m not sure if you are also? I’m with Telstra and got my phone on a contract through them, they had stock of the 13’s but I couldn’t locate any in any local stores I had to get it posted out to me by them.

Maybe you should check out a 14 yourself to see if you agree that the they have the same issue? That thread alone was enough to put me off but I haven’t actually checked them out myself so can’t be 100% sure that they’re the same.

Hi Alexandra,

how are you? I am from uk, I was talking to the Apple team yesterday they did screen sharing with me to see the pictures and he agreed that it went dark and lost its quality. He also did few other things too, but nothing has solved the problem. You are absolutely right, I should check out the 14 pro before making a decision. Thank you ever so much for all the advice.

And then what? Apple knows that there's a problem. The screen is good brightness, contrast. It was not warm. I called several times apple support and asked for help. They simply couldn't help because the cameras are not good. Still stuck with the 6 SE 1 Gen from 2016 because it makes better photos than the Iphone 15 pro. I would have kept it. I had to sent mine back and they made a refund. I am so dissapointed. Really wanted a new phone.
