iPhone 15 Pro Photos are Dark

Pictures are coming out darker after being taken with the front & back cameras. Compared with the iPhone 14 Pro & the iPhone 14's photo looks better. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing with their new iPhone 15s or knows the fix to this? This is frustrating since I need to take photos & videos for work.

The only way I can get my image to look the same in the photos app and elsewhere is to Go to Settings -> Photos-> and toggle OFF View Full HDR. This shows the image as you can expect it to look outside of the photo app when exporting. You just lose all the lovely HDR brightness and contrast. Still very disappointing.

There has been some progress in lessening the graininess. But modifications were unavoidable, leading to washed-out hues in everyday situations and an unsettling alteration of people's features. In addition, the front camera's performance is unsatisfactory under all circumstances, producing images with poor quality and dull, washed-out hues. Though it seems to perform worse than previous iPhones and Android smartphones, my expectations for the iPhone 15 Pro were high.

I started having this problem with my 13 Pro Max. I even took it back to the iStore,it was very bad compared to my previous one which was XS Pro max, that one was brilliant.

i was told at iStore that it must be the privacy screen protector that was causing photos to come out dark after being taken. It didn’t make sense and I realized that there was nothing that could be done with that cause even after I took out that screen protector pictures were horrible still. I was so sad after paying so much money for a phone that was worse than my previous one. It was a big disappointment. I’m still using the phone my sister photos are waaay better than mine, she has Xs😭. I’m now scared to buy newer phones if the 15 is also like that😭. I came to this platform thinking there could be some solution ,I thought after all this time maybe Apple or someone figured out how to fix it,only to get a surprise that iPhone 15 which is a newer phone has the same issue:(

I'm not sure what your trade has to do with how your well iPhone camera works. But, I'm a research administrator and mine works brilliantly, so maybe there is something to that?

What did Apple tell you when you had them run diagnostics on your phone?

I feel like I may just completely ditch apple on my next upgrade. Constantly having issues with camera issues

You should always buy the tool that best meets your needs. No one here in this user-to-user forum has a vested interest in what you chose.

Please stop being patronizing and rude. YES there is a general problem and no Apple doesn’t fix things unless it’s widespread and enough people complain. That is why many of us have encouraged people to submit tickets. It’s not just “individual phones“. Please don’t spread inaccuracies. If you’re not having this problem and don’t have a solution, there’s no reason for you to be commenting. If your phone is perfect (doubt it) then you are blessed. Have a good day! I will not be communicating with you any longer.

Says the person who presumed I didn't know what I was talking about.....

If it's not widespread, it's not a general problem.

Yes, I'm encouraging people to contact Apple and arrange to have diagnostics run. You seem to think that submitting feedback accomplishes the same thing. It doesn't. While I'm a firm believer in feedback, this is a time for actual repairs.

Please don’t spread inaccuracies.

Advice you should consider taking.

I hate the iPhone 15 pro front facing camera, period. Like all the others, the photos are dark, grainy, low quality, unflattering. Apple, get it together! This phones front facing camera is absolute garbage, I want a refund!! This angers me more than anything on an iPhone to date! I hope you are listening Apple! Fix the camera!! 😫

The most disappointing purchase I’ve ever made. I waited years to upgrade and I finally bought ‘the best,’ so I could use the camera as a work tool. Im booked into Telstra to change my device to the 14 pro as the camera is basically unusable on the 15pro max. Genuinely don’t understand how they’ve gotten away with making such a redundant product. Extremely frustrating - they should be recalled.

I’m facing this problem with my new IPhone 15 Pro. The pictures are horrible! The individual faces are dark even after adding a filter. I’m disappointed after spending so much to buy the phone. I feel like I’m being ripped off. My friend recommended 13 pro for better picture but I insisted on 15 pro because I assumed the higher the better. Apple must do something about this problem! is unacceptable and I feel cheated.
