After iOS 17 iPhone 11 is not charging

After updating to ios 17 my iPhone 11 doesn’t charge anymore when it’s on. It used to charge with 10w charger but after 17.0.3 that doesn’t work either.

Only way to charge now is to turn off phone and charge.

Clean charging option is not available for me. optimised charging is turned off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

We always have Background App Refresh off.

Turned off Optimum Charging.

The problem was four-fold:

1-The rubber on the Otter Box was slightly impinging on the lighting cord connection (easy to correct)

2-17.1.2 IOS Update

3-Optimum Charging off

*(after the above 3, phone charged somewhat better but not consistent, would actually show it was charging but lose battery %)

4- New Apple 20W charger was intermittent, I figured it out late night when I noticed the phone lighting up-on and off (cord verified as good)

After receiving warranty charger, pone now charges as expected.

Restored the "Optimum Charging" feature.

In my case I can't say for certain if the IOS was the culprit or a combination of the above damaging the charger.

HTH someone.

Same here. I had a call with an apple assistant earlier last week and tried all the recommendations but none solved the issue. I also own a second iPhone 11 which I had not updated and it was working fine. As soon as I updated the second device; it started doing the same problem. Now both phones are not charging after applying the update. What are the chances of that happening on both phones; especially when they were both working fine before the updates were applied. I am highly suspicious of this bug being related to whatever changes apple has added to ensure that they are able to meet European regulation related to allowing third party chargers connecting to the device; or something similar affecting the lightning port. Apple needs to urgently issue a fix for this. It is unfair that users have to go through this kind of issue as a result of changes apple has made but not thoroughly tested ! Please fix this !!!

i tried reactivating all to see if it works after the hard reset turns out it's the same issue, i also noticed when i put it back on charger in the morning when it was at 79(for some reason letting it run down a little brings back charging pace to normal), it continued fine until like 93 then became extremely slow( i borrowed my brother's iPad charger trying to see if that was the culprit but turns out mine worked fine on his iPad) but anyways, when i turned these 2 off again, it restarted fully charging, so i guess there's a bug with these 2 features making charging worse

The consensus is powering down the iPhone and plugging in the cord will recharge to 100%. Another work around that I have not tried but mentioned by one person is to take a screen shot before plugging in the cord. I guess they did that to gauge progress and found bizarrely that the device charged up to 100%. But I think that was just a variation on Murph’s Law.

I am sorry for bringing back to life an old topic but my iPhone does the same thing after updating to iOS 17

I was staying on 16.6.1 until I saw that 17.4.1 has a good battery life so I updated it.

My habit is to charge it over night and until iOS 17 it was charging fine to 100%, I have optimised charge ON and clean energy OFF.

Now every morning I find the phone battery 64%, it still shows the charging sign on the battery icon but if I use the phone the battery will drop.

I have also checked the History graph of the battery and it shows like the battery charged to 80% in the first hour then dropped to 64% for some unknown reason. I checked the activity of apps and none was draining the battery.

My solution was "give it time".

I did a restore/update to 17.6.1 yesterday on a newly-purchased refurbed iPhone SE 2nd gen, and even though the Lightning charger cable was plugged in all day, it steadily dropped from ~80% to as low as 21%. I kept changing cables and checking to see if the power supply got pulled out of the power bar. There was a lightning bolt on the battery icon all the time, so I knew it was still on the 20W charger.

Eventually it went back to normal. Today it's fine.
