To start with go to your car and remove all IPhone related with Bluetooth. Next go to your I phone General - then CarPlay and there remove Hyundai Morors. After that restart your phone. Restart your car. Start doing sync as just new device. This is how I resolved my issue
Is it working ?
I have same problem with my Hyundai Creta as well.
When disconnecting from car and reconnect from car, contacts sync, else contacts don’t sync.
This problem after Ios17.
all iOS16 devices work well.
Apple not willing to solve Case ID: as it’s created after ios17 update.

I had the same issue. To solve it go CarPlay and remove Hyundai from there. Remove Creta from your IPhone and IPhone from your car Bluetooth. After that reinstall all back. It will work fine, this is from my real experience
Not working after turning Bluetooth OFF/ON from iPhone. Need to disconnect and connect from Creta Bluetooth to make contact sync work everytime when I switch off Car.
Broken by Ios17 but Apple reluctant to solve as they caused this regression issue.
Hi Daniel-Joy,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having some issues with data syncing via CarPlay. In that case, we'd recommend using the tips from If you need help with CarPlay.
"Check your wired or wireless connection and your iPhone settings
If your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS, follow these steps—checking CarPlay after each step:
2. If CarPlay doesn't activate automatically, look for the CarPlay logo on your car's display and select it.
3. Restart your iPhone and your car.
5. If your iPhone isn't detected by CarPlay, make sure that CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. If Content & Privacy Restrictions is on, tap Allowed Apps, and make sure that CarPlay is enabled.
6. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.
7. Make sure that your CarPlay stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information."
We hope that helps.
When u connect by wire Careplay you have to go to Bluetooth on your mobile and remove Creta. In CarPlay you will see Hyundai car pic, remove or say forget it. Same you will have to do a reset to company. Once all is removed switch off your mobile and car. Then restart both your mobile and car. Do the synchronization as you did first time. It should work.
I am following up with Hyundai for more than a month now. There is a specific model which doesn’t work with iOS 17. Tried installing other stereo and that worked fine. They are giving me an update tomorrow to resolve this problem. Will keep you posted once done.
Hey Daniel-Joy,
Based on what you're describing, we want to recommend that you get in touch with Hyundai directly. They are going to be the best resource for issues specifically affecting their entertainment system software. You can start by heading here: Contact Us - MyHyundai
Cheers!
Hi Daniel, it works only first time. Once switch OFF/ON car or TurnOff/On Bluetooth from iPhone, the Bluetooth reconnects but not the contact sync.
contact sync works only if I again disconnect from Car Bluetooth and reconnect from car. Or if I again freshly pair.
I maybe missing, does ur contact sync work after car OFF/ON? If so can you share detailed steps please.
I have the similar issue with my Creta SX(O) Turbo. Raised a concern with Hyundai and they updated the software but it didn't work. My phone is working with all other models of Hyundai including Creta but specifically not working with my car. I tried connecting another phone with iOS17 with my car but that had the same issue. It is Hyundai problem because the same phone is working everywhere apart from Creta SX(O) turbo. I am still working with Hyundai for the resolution.
Finally, Hyundai updated a patch and all works fine now.
This works only first time. After that disconnecting Bluetooth from mobile(OFF) and turning Bluetooth ON again from mobile makes ContactSync to not happen.
I need to everytime forget device and connect again to get contacts sync to work on Hyundai Creta.
Does your car have Wireless CarPlay? Mine is wired CarPlay, so not sure why you told to forget Hyundai CarPlay ? Anyways I did this as well, but it works only first time.
Yes. Hyundai service team also did a reset through some custom key input. Problem exists with all iOS17 devices with my Creta. Just using CarPlay for now everyday.
Is your Creta 2020 model without Wireless CarPlay?
Did you try other options to solve ?
It is other way around, problem exists with SX(O) model of creta. If Apple has a problem then it won’t connect any of the Hyundai car but it connects well with other model even new model of SX(O). Here is my conclusion on this issue, this model has CarPlay using wire and rest of the model won’t have CarPlay or connecting wirelessly. I have a case opened with Hyundai and Apple but both says it is not their problem. Finally, I convinced Hyundai to get in touch with Apple as it is their vendor. So, let’s see what comes next.
did u factory reset the iphone
