Sonoma: Macbook Pro (M1 2020) Touch Bar display not working after update

I updated to Sonoma from Ventura. And after the install, I noticed that the Touch Bar display didn't come on. also the Mac screen would freeze for a upto 15 seconds if I shut and opened the lid. the mouse pointer would move but would not allow me to open or close or click anything on the screen.

I asked Mac support to help and they made me do everything possible from diagnostics which showed everything was fine to reinstall, downgraded and wipe out the memory and reinstall Ventura. Nothing helped get the Touch Bar display functional.

The funny thing is that the Touch Bar is responsive but its dimply is off.

Been to a Genius Bar as well and they couldn't explain why this happened, they even tried to tell me it may be an underlining problem that got surfaced due to the update. How is that possible for an issue to surface on the updated os and then it does not show an error or even show a diagnostic issue.

They wanted me to pay for changing the keyboard which is considerable cost. That's criminal.... to ask me to pay for replacement of parts due to a software update especially if they are unable to explain the actual cause.

Anyone else having similar issues and have found a work around or solution?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.6

I have your exactly same issues in my MacBook Pro 13” M1 since I updated to Sonoma. No one seems to be able to solve the problem, the Apple Service said it is necessary to replace the “logic board” for more than the half of the original price of the laptop…unbelievable! We hope Apple could find a solution, otherwise I will feel extremely disappointed with this brand and I won’t buy any new product from they! APPLE MUST SOLVE THESE PROBLEMS STRAIGHT AWAY!
