Trackpad Scratched-Replacement Cost and Time

I have a 2023 MacBook Pro 16". I just noticed about a week ago that the trackpad is scratched. I have no idea how this happened and am very careful with my computer. I had two previous Macbook Pros and each lasted round 7 years without ever having a scratch. Sadly this computer is only 8 months old.

Now it's a relatively large scratch but is mostly a cosmetic issue. At this time at least it seems to cause no problems with the trackpad's use.

I have AppleCare+ on this computer. I assume this would not be a free repair but what is something like this expected to cost? Also, any idea what the turnaround time is. I would like to get this repaired but if there's a long turn around time or cost I may have to pass on the repair.

I looked in my area and see I can schedule repairs at Best Buy, the Apple Store, or MicroCenter. Is it best to go straight to any Apple Store for a repair such as this?

I've attached a couple images showing the scratch.

It appears your trackpad is cracked— it is glass after all...

your choice Apple or AASP what ever is more convenient...
