That will depend on the system version you are having installed on your device.
Photos on iOS 16 and iOS 17 comes with a built-in duplicate detector, see: Find and delete duplicate photos and videos on iPhone – Apple Support (UK)
The same goes for iPadOS 16 and 17, and Photos for Mac on macOS 13 and macOs 14.
If you have an older system version installed on your device, check, if your device can be updated to a newer system version, that supports the duplicate detection in Photos.
