Document folder on hard disk

why is Document folder only on iCloud? I can't seem to create one on my hard drive...

If you turn on iCloud Desktop and Documents, your Documents folder is still on your Mac. You can access it from the Finder Sidebar in the iCloud section of the Sidebar.


Also, if you have not turned on Optimize Mac Storage in Apple menu > System Settings (or System Preferences on older systems) then there is a local copy of all of your Documents in that folder; however, if you have turned that option on, there may not be a local copy of some files there if your Mac is low on space and when you access them from the Finder sidebar they may need to download.
