So when me and my friends are trying to share our location one of theirs says ‘Expired Location’ before the location could even load in. I’m the Find My app it’s also says no location found. I was wondering why was that.

I was not able to see my wife’s location but she could see mine. This is what worked for me.
Go to Settings
>Privacy and Security
>Location services
>Share my Location
There should be a list of people that you are sharing location with (or trying to share location with).
Find the Friend or Family member you are having trouble sharing location with. (In my case this was done on my wife’s phone.) If there is a message “Johnny cannot see your location” click on their name and press share location and they should now see you.
Go to settings, go to “mail” & view blocked.. if the your email is block that why it not working. My ex did to me so I couldn’t see his location.
Go to ‘Find My’ APP and you should see the share request there and hit “accept”.
Like the above , when I send my location indefinitely , until end of day or for one hour, it sends a map trying to populate then shrinks down to a note on recipient message as “user location expired”
find and all family notifications are on. Family can not find me either
what next?
Just wanted to add that I am experiencing the same issue… all of the settings are set to allow my location to be tracked, but as soon as I try and share with someone, it expires immediately. Please fix this Apple how is this an issue in iOS 17
i’m currently having this issue with my husband as well which is quite dangerous. my anxiety is at an all time high right now especially when he misses a call of mine, etc, and i have no way of checking if he’s okay. i can see my current friends (2) locations and they can see mine but i can’t see my husbands nor can he see mine which is weird and we just started having this issue yesterday.
We are having the same issue. Not sure if this started when I did the update on my phone or not a few days ago. The two people I share my location with I was unable to locate. I was able to get one of them fixed but my husbands started working then later in messages it says location expired. He has the new iPhone 15 and I wonder if there is something w/it that’s not working the same.
I can’t share my location with my mom and I’m a 21 year old girl dealing with harassment daily whenever I walk my dog. This is a safety issue that needs fixed asap. These issues are still happening months later even after trying suggestions and no help from Apple. I suggest using other apps for location sharing since this is a safety concern.
Solution that works for me tonight after more than 4 hours trying everything ( Google, YouTube and plus ) is simple and easier ( Not forget that I said that works for me )
1st : add each other on sharing family family
2nd : go to sharing location with each other
3rd : problem was solve for me

I would like to add to this thread. I too will share my location and the user on the other end is saying it says expired immediately.

I’m having the exact same issue. You’d think for $1000 phones we wouldn’t experience inconveniences and issues like this. And that fact that it’s going ignored and there’s still no solutions is wild.
Had anyone fixed this?? It’s happening to only one contact I’ve tried every setting.. others can see my location. I don’t get it..
I’m having this issue as well. Only with one particular contact. I’ve contacted Apple Support so that they can troubleshoot this issue but it still persists.

Same issue. None of the solutions suggested work. It doesn’t matter where I am or if I’m sitting right next to the person I’m trying to share location with it just says ‘location expired’. Never had an issue till the latest update. We expect more Apple, find the bug and fix it.
