Purchased a “Text Tone” from ITunes through my settings. Will not let me download and use it as a text

I purchased a “Text tone” from the ITunes Store. When I tried to change it in my settings>sounds &haptics>text tone… the purchase wasn’t there. I’ve downloaded all the tones that I’ve purchased. All purchased tones show available in my ringtone setting but not in my text tone setting. I’ve tried to set it as a text tone through a specific contact, that doesn’t work… my notifications are enabled for sound…I’ve checked that… just wondering why I can’t use the $1.29 text tone as a actual….TEXT TONE. Not a ringtone. Refund me the money and take the tone back if I can’t use it.

Hi Boro712,

We'd like to share some helpful information and guidance for your Messages Tone. Looking over Change message notifications on iPhone - Apple Support and the steps there will have a specific Tone Store for Messages which would be compatible ones, and additionally where you change these sounds there is an option to download all purchases. If you confirm the Tone appears in the store in Sounds in Messages, you will want to reach out to Apple Support regarding this not working as intended. If the purchased tone is confirmed not compatible via what we shared, you can go through Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple - Apple Support.
