Spotify Screenshot/Screen Record Inability

Question: Why am I unable to take a screenshot/screen record when using spotify?

I'm using an iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Context: I am troubleshooting a Spotify issue via a Discord discussion. I attempted to video & photo my issue to pass along for help from the Spotify channel creator.

Issue:

1) Photos automatically blacked out the video image.

2)Screen record altogether skipped any open Spotify footage. Meaning, it recorded before navigating to Spotify & directly after leaving Spotify but not Spotify its self.

Why am I not able to use my phone the way I want and then unable to demonstrate my problem to whom can officially offer assistance? Am I being policed and if so, what would make troubleshooting agianst the terms of service?

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. If this is only occurring with Spotify, then we suggest to contact the app developer about this question. Some third party app prevent the use of screen recording. Here's how to contact an app developer:

Contact the developer of an iOS, iPadOS, or watchOS app

1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.

2. Search for the app, then tap it. If you can't find it, tap the account button or your photo at the top of the screen, tap Purchased, tap "Not on this [device]," then tap the app.

3. The app's product page appears. Scroll to the Ratings & Reviews section, then tap App Support. If you don't see App Support, make sure that you're signed in with the correct Apple ID.
