I did a factory reset on my Apple Watch Series 5 since I haven’t used it in years. I keep getting an error message when trying to set it up.
“Unable to Check for Update Checking for a software update failed because you are not connected to the Internet.”
I am connected to the internet and I have tried restarting my devices and don’t know what else to do. Can anyone help?

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. The error you mentioned sounds similar to that found in If you see 'Unable to Verify Update' when updating Apple Watch - Apple Support. We'd recommend following all sections and steps there. For instance, if paired with your iPhone, the following section may help.
"Unpair and update your Apple Watch
next to the watch that you want to unpair. Next, set up your Apple Watch with your iPhone. When asked whether you want to set up as new or restore from a backup, choose to set up as new. Then follow the onscreen instructions to finish setup. If you want to update to the watchOS beta, reinstall the beta profile after setup is complete."
