Have you ever had unexplainable problems with your pen? Notes disappearing as you write them…..?

I was having this problem this morning, along with broken lines in my writing and it seems like one other thing but now I don’t remember.

Ok my problem was so simple to fix. The nib on my pen was loose. Any pen problems, check that first!!

Disappearing handwriting in iPad Notes app Taking handwritten notes in the native Notes app on my 2021 iPad pro, I frequently encounter the following problem: I am writing, and after I lift the apple Pencil from the page, about half of the letters in the word I just finished writing disappear completely. eg. I would handwrite the word 'frustrating' and a moment after I start the next word there is a sudden disappearance and all that is left is 'fr st ti g'. When this starts to happen it, happens with almost every word I try to write in the note. Needless to say, taking any sort of comprehensible notes becomes nearly impossible. I've also noticed that when this happens, the iPad starts to get very hot to the touch. I wonder if this has something to do with the ML handwriting analysis/'straightening' trying to do too much and failing. I've repeatedly searched for a way to turn this feature off, but with no success. I've tried exiting the Notes app, turning the iPad off for a while to allow it to cool down, then returning to the note. Unfortunately, this does not fix the issue. The note appears to be permanently broken and I have to start in a brand new file.

Handwritten Notes Vanished after Exiting app or Crash I was handwriting my notes on my Ipad on the Apple Notes app and out of nowhere the app just crashed and suddenly all my hours of notes progress was lost, I waited for 30 mins to see whether the crash fixes itself but it just vanished forever. This wasn't the first time though, it has happened several times and the same thing happens. Other times when I exit the app and when I come back to the app, it also vanishes. I tried to restart my iPad several times, but it seems to not update or anything, checked the Notes app on another device with the same iCloud, but it didn't update which was a bit frustrating when my internet is constantly working well. Note: iPadOS 16.6, everything is up to date (iPad 17.0 was buggy so I came back to this latest released version). Wish Apple can fix this so I don't have to waste unnecessary hours rewriting my notes.

Notes app crashes with handwritten notes This has happened a couple times since iOS 16, just happened on iOS 16.5 (updated today). I was using my Apple Pencil to write a journal entry in the notes app, and after a while the strokes become slow to register, then it suddenly crashed and I lost quite a bit of work when I reopened the note. I tried quitting and reopening the app, nothing. So next, I went to restarting my iPad - nothing. Then, as per other posts here, I deleted the app and redownloaded it (first checking that all my previous entries were synced with iCloud - they were). Now, all of the handwritten notes I have (over 100) don’t show any of my text that I’ve written. Any typed ones are there, but any written with my Apple Pencil are gone. They’re still in existence on my phone, but seemingly won’t recover on the iPad. Tried restarting the iPad again and quitting the app - neither have fixed the problem. I’m assuming the writing I lost on my current note is gone forever, correct? There’s no way to recover it? Secondly, how do I recover the previous handwritten notes? Another solution I’ve seen is to turn off iCloud sync for notes entirely. If my app crashes and iCloud is disabled, there would be no recovering any part of the note - so that’s a non-starter. The suggested fixes I’ve seen aren’t working, or actively worsening the situation - please help!
