Macbook App Requires password to open

Most everything working well, but I have one app, that will not open unless I put in my password.

I can't find a solution or answer as to why anywhere. All permissions are set to read and write.

I don't know what else I can do. It seems I have to put in a password to do just about everything.

This is my first Mac and I love it, but I'm seriously considering going back to Windows if I can't stop this password insanity to gain access to files I created, apps I own, or copy/paste from folder to folder.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 14.0

First, please tell us what app is asking for your password.

Certain kinds of apps do require you to enter your password the first time you run them and/or may require you to give them Full Disk Access. Disk managers, disk copiers/cloners, system utilities, etc.

Also note that app installers invariably require your admin password to run; this is a macOS prompt, not an application prompt, and is a security measure.

Second, regarding password prompts to save or access files & folders. You may be running into a Mac security feature known as Full Disk Access. Check System Settings > Security & Privacy > Full Disk Access. Add apps to this list as necessary. Even MS Office apps may need to be listed here.
