iPhone 15 front camera issues

I have the iPhone 15 pro also, I posted about my camera issues recently including horrible selfie camera, but for some reason Apple deleted my post. Even old iPhone 11 Pro looks better. Completely unacceptable and Apple is ignoring this problem !

Purchased a new iPhone 15 a few weeks ago and am thoroughly disgusted with the camera. My old iPhone 8 took far better photos! What is the problem? Is Apple going to fix this?

So i’ve upgraded for the first time in a long time. I had the XR and the XS and have upgraded to the 15 as i’m a Photographer so wanted a decent camera for my reels. Ohhhh myyyyy godddd! How bad is the front facing camera? It’s over sharp, grainy with quite a lot of noise, blown out highlights and makes you appear like a grey alien! I wasn’t expecting this in the slightest. I actually thought I was looking quite old and was on that downward spiral, but what I see on screen is not what appears once I click capture. Come on Apple, sort this out!

Most frustrating part is that Apple is not saying anything on this issue. I feel that this is an issue related to AI processing but I don’t know when this will be fixed. I tried taking selfies on all iphone 15 models and issue remains the same. Maybe returning the phone is the only option.

”Upgraded” from an iPhone 12 yesterday to the 15 Pro. I assumed I would be getting the best camera available on Apple products. This was essential to me because I’m traveling this year and wanted to document my trip with great photos. I took a selfie today and was horrified with the quality. The picture was so grainy and harsh, this needs to be fixed ASAP. My 2007 flip phone has a better camera quality than this piece of junk.

Same here, This is my first i phone, and after using its camera and results of the photographs (For which I actually bought the i phone) i am really very much disappointed.

My last Android phone which was launched 7 years back (One Plus 5) had better results compared to this.

Apple should fix this issue as soon as possible. Or we the current iphone 15 users might take a big step for this. None us us would like to waste our huge amount of money against which we are not receiving good quality.

Its a kind request to Apple to please solve this problem asap

Same here. The quality seems incredible before capturing the picture. Eventually the picture has the quality of iphone 5. Literally. This should be fixed asap because so far it’s super disappointing.

So how do you fix your phone exposure?

After a prolonged wait, I made the switch from my iPhone 11 to the iPhone 15 Pro primarily for its superior camera quality. However, I am extremely disappointed. The front camera produces pictures reminiscent of the iPhone 5 or even older models, displaying initial greyness and blurriness that only slightly improves after a few seconds. Surprisingly, my iPhone 11 captures significantly better selfies. This issue appears to be widespread across this model, as indicated by various comments. If I had seen these reviews earlier, I would have refrained from investing a considerable amount. I urgently urge the team to address and rectify this issue promptly, as it is unacceptable and feels like a disheartening investment.

I totally agree. It’s only when it captures the photo though. Thru the front camera lens it looks good? But when I go to snap it, it’s SO GRAINY!!!!!!! And the front camera turns out SO blurry sometimes if you don’t have the flash on? apple has so many features but they can’t get the most basic one down. Can you let me take a decent picture? My XR took better photos. Sooooo disappointed in apple. I swear every year the quality of the products they release go down. Just not worth the money at this point.

I’m coming from Samsung to Apple and after this I would never recommend or buy an Apple phone again! There’s so many issues to list, but a horrible front facing camera for a $1500+ phone is unacceptable.

If i knew the 15 would have taken out such ugly pictures i would have stick to my 13 which has the best camera so much for so called upgrade. Apple please address this issue in the next update.

It's been months since someone brought this issue up and nothing has been change. Apple doesn't even seem to care. From iphone 11 to iphone 15, I am beyond disappointed.

This is my first iPhone and I didn’t expect the experience would be this bad. The front camera is worthless. I have an Android phone of Realme 11 pro 5g+ and it takes spectacular selfie. Whereas this $854 iPhone 15 is nothing. I’m really disappointed. No matter how much I tried altering things in the settings, nothing changed that much. Apple really should pay attention to this huge issue.

I am experiencing the same issue. I upgraded from the iPhone 12 Pro to the iPhone 15 Pro Max a week ago, and am highly disappointed in the front-facing camera processing. I have adjusted many settings and played with it, but the photos come out darker, grainier, and duller than before the photos are taken. When I screenshot the photo about to be taken vs taking the photo, it is a world of a difference. Taking this to the Apple Store tonight and likely returning this phone for a google pixel or Samsung.
