I was deleting a LOT of emails, because the volume overwhelms me and I ignore them, and I did something awful and deleted the entire Trash folder rather than simply deleting the contents of the folder.

So, when you right-click, or double-click on the trackpad, you get the option of: Erase deleted items or, erase folder. I inadvertently erased the whole Trash folder. I added back a "Trash" folder but it is simply a folder, not a Trash can icon. I am not sure that it will work and it simply looks bad as well. Is there anything that I can do to add it back into my list of folders on the sidebar to my left? Many answers say that you can add it to the taskbar "above". I don't use anything "above" so I have no idea what they are talking about unless that is where they keep their particular icons, for whatever personal reasons.

Thanks for any help you offer. This is really stressing me out because I finally found a way to get a handle on the 1000+ emails I get a day and felt that I could finally get passed ignoring my emails and utilizing them.
