AirPods Pro 2: Enable charging case sounds, in the setting is grey out

I'm stuck with that too. Does anyone else have a solution?

I have the same issue, and it is so incredibly irritating. Seems like it’s been a bug for years. Please fix it Apple!

When I put my AirPod case on charge then it gives a beep sound I tried restarting both my phone and the AirPod buh it still don’t work

This worked on one pair of AirPod Pro (latest version). The older pair still has the setting grayed out. It never made sounds until recently.

i have no idea how this worked but i gave my phone a good smack and then it un-greyed out. i honestly have no clue how or why that worked but it did 🤷‍♂️

I finally solved this case by following some of the instruction here but not working so i add some steps..

i charge the case > open it and then > press and hold the button in the case for 5 seconds and then connect the airpods manually thru bluetooth > then go to settings and finally got the “enable charging sounds” finally off and not greyed out anymore…hope this will help!

just go to settings, while using your AirPod, go to Bluetooth and click on the (blue “i”) icon and scroll down to the charging case sound, and just stay there give it a second and it should change to normal and let you turn it off, that’s what I did, I just waited and I’m was greyed out, and after like 30 secs there was a loading symbol and it went back to normal and let me turn it off. Also I did this while charging the case

The hard reset didn't work. Setting switch is still grayed out for me and the case is still making arbitrary noises.
