I can't change my Apple ID payment method

My I cloud is full and I cannot buy more space because my card for my apple account is expired. The card was also stolen. the phone will allow me to update the card that no longer exist. Obviously, this is futile as it does not exist. It will not allow me to add a card. that area is greyed out and not selectable. This apple ID started with the first Ipod that we purchased for my son decades ago. It had an email that ended in integra.net that no longer exists either. It was a family apple ID. over the years my wife got a different one along with my kids. I have the original and it somehow has mindmelded into my Delta air lines corporate phone as well. Please advise if you can help. the email associated with my / our original apple account is my wifes ***@gmail.com This email is still active and she can read your response for help. Thank you for your help.

I can’t edit change or update my payment methods edit button is not functioning at all also clicking on payment methods not giving me edit option

my device is an iphone 14 the software is 16.6. This started when I new phone. when transferring data from the 13 to the I 14 i discovered my icloud was full so i tried to buy more space. I then discovered that my payment method was an old expired card that I no longer use. It had been hacked and I got a new card with a different number. When I go into my name as instructed and select payment and shiping it shows my expired card data. It does not allow me to change the card number it wants updated expiration date and CCV data. this is futile since that card does not exists. if i go back to the payment and shipping page it will not allow me to select add payment method. it is grayed out. I was told in the past this is some kind of security measure, and I need to update the expired card data. I cant do that since that card no longer exist.

2. Does this happen when you try to add a new payment method from any of your devices or just a specific one?

If you change your address, the credit or debit card information that you use with your Apple ID might be automatically updated by your financial institution, and you don't need to take action. But if there's an issue, add a new card first, then remove the old card.

Update your payment method on your iPhone or iPad

1. Open the Settings app.

2. Tap your name.

3. Tap Payment & Shipping. You might be asked to sign in with your Apple ID.

4. Tap Add Payment Method, enter the new payment method, then tap Done.

5. Tap Edit.

6. Tap the red delete button next to the old payment method, then tap Delete.
