How to remove message background color in Mail (Mac OS)

Users have the option of changing the background color of messages in the mailbox column (not the actual background color of the message content) via Show Colors (Shift+⌘+C). I would like to know if there is a way to remove these colors, returning the message background to transparent, as they don't necessarily configure with changes from light to dark mode.

Is there a way to add colorless transparence to the list of available colors in the color picker window?

If an email is sent to you referencing a page on a remote server, its HTML5/CSS3 visual content is controlled on the remote server, and you cannot override that content background via Apple Mail.

The macOS color picker does not support alpha channels (transparency) and there is no means to add that capability or transform email backgrounds to other colors than white or black.

I agree that if the e-mail is written like that, it is out of the user control.

However: the macOS color picker does have an Opacity slider...
