AirPods Max uncomfortable

Hello, I need help. I bought the AirPods Max and already on the first day I notice that the ear cups press on my jaw joint. This creates a lot of pressure in my right ear that is very uncomfortable. If I push the headphones a little further up so that they do not press, I hear ambient noise again. Does anyone have a tip on what I can do? Am I putting the headphones on incorrectly?
