Mac Ventura 13.6 -- Printer constantly has to be power cycled to print

I've been having problems with my two Canon printers since I got Ventura 13.6. One is a D570 and the other a MF242DW. I didn't have the problem with the earlier version of Ventura.

The printers will not work unless I restart them. Then the job will complete but if I try to print again 20 seconds later, I will need to turn off/on the printer again.

I've done numerous troubleshooting- changing USB cords, changing USB ports, resetting printer system, reinstalling drivers.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

You mentioned drivers. For both models, have you also checked whether the printer firmware has been updated (if applicable)?

These models are listed as supported in About AirPrint - Apple Support. So, they should even work without additional drivers, provided that the printers and the Mac are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router).

AirPrint works with wireless (Wi-Fi) or wired (Ethernet) network connections. If you so wish, the printers could be wired to the LAN ports of a Wi-Fi router instead of being wirelessly connected.
