Using Time Machine to set up new Mac

I have just bought a new MacBook Pro and am undecided on whether to use Time Machine to transfer files to the new machine. I also have manual back ups of the files.


I want to have a completely new start and be rid of the junk that's been picked up by my old Mac, so all I want to transfer is files, saved passwords and Apple Mail folders.


Will anything else be transferred, e.g. cookies?


Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
