My phone watch is not picking up my steps or when I do stairs. Is there something I can do? Will it work when carrying a child or laundry up the stairs?

Is it not recording steps at all? If so, go to Settings>Privacy & Security>Motion & Fitness and make sure it's turned on.
My steps are not being counted right. I have an iPhone watch too but neiter of the them are counting right or doing flights of stairs either?? What can I do??
