I have a question about blocking?

If I block someone from iPhone but I have my iMessage turned on will they still receive my messages?

Can still get texts from someone I blocked. I can still get texts from someone I blocked. I keep reading it’s because they’re sending through iMessage but that shouldn’t matter. I don’t want texts from them anymore. I don’t want contact from them anymore how do I make that happen? My phone is updated to the latest iOS.

Will my iMessage still show delivered on my iPhone 16 if blocked? If am blocked, will my text to them still say "delivered". I have ios 18.3 and mac Sequoia. If you block someone, it prevents them from contacting you. It does not stop you from contacting them.
