Every time I try and use an imported transition it takes away the color and makes it look faded. For example under the transitions tab it looks fine as you can see from the attached photo, but once I apply it to the video, it looks all faed and I tried to adjust the color but it still takes away the brightness of the transition just making it look dead. I also attached a photo of what the transition looks once it is applied.

Your project is HDR and that is (almost certainly) why the transitions look that way.
As a test, make a small project, not in HDR. Add two clips and one of these transitions.
Does it look normal? I am pretty sure it does.
What version of FCP do you have? It seems that recent versions handle the differences between SDR and HDR more seamlessly, but in older ones it was necessary to do some color adjustments.

Sorry, the second image you posted was not visible for me before and I was reading on the iPhone, so not so easy for me to spot the details.
I noticed that you have applied Color Conform to a clip that is selected in the first image.
Maybe that has to do with the issue? What are the clip and project settings, and what do you have set for it in Color Conform?
Which transitions are these? If you open the Inspector withe the transition selected, and not a clip, does it have any parameters that you can control?
You mean you changed it from HDR to SDR?
In the current version, this interplay between graphics and HDR projects seems to work automatically. So if you don't mind, can you tell us what version of FCP and macOS you are using?
