Downloading M4R files to iPhone

I tried following these instructions, assuming Music and iTunes are synonymous, and click on my connected iPhone in devices, I do not get a "Tones" tab. So have no capability to drag and drop the ringtone files. What am I doing wrong?

  1. Connect your iPhone to your computer using a Lightning cable.
  2. Open iTunes on your computer.
  3. Select your iPhone from the list of devices in iTunes.
  4. Click on the "Tones" tab.
  5. Drag and drop the custom ringtone file (in .m4r format) from your computer to the "Tones" section in iTunes.
  6. Click the "Sync" button to transfer the custom ringtone to your iPhone.
  7. On your iPhone, go to "Settings" > "Sounds & Haptics" > "Ringtone."
  8. Find the custom ringtone you just added and select it as your new ringtone.

Guys, try do this (solution 1 solved my problem):

1. Using Finder (For macOS 10.15 Catalina and later):

  • Connect your iPhone to your MacBook using a USB cable.
  • Open Finder and locate your iPhone under "Locations" in the sidebar.
  • Click on your iPhone and navigate to the General tab.
  • Drag and drop the .m4r file into the General tab area. This will automatically transfer the ringtone to your iPhone.

2. Using the Music app (For macOS 10.15 Catalina and later):

  • Open the Music app on your MacBook.
  • Drag and drop the .m4r file into the Music app window.
  • Connect your iPhone to your MacBook.
  • Click on your iPhone's icon in the Music app sidebar.
  • Click on the Tones tab.
  • Check the box next to the ringtone you want to sync.
  • Click Apply or Sync to transfer the ringtone.
