move child accounts

Okay I have an apple ID as a parent account. I am maxed out on my family members. 2 of the children don't have the correct birthdays and have turned 18 already. they have their own apple IDs so I need to delete the children accounts out of my family. you are unable to delete the children accounts or remove them until the account bday is 18. the only option i was told by support is to move them to a different parent account. that would free up mine so i can add my youngest to the family. The problem Im having is I cant create a new apple ID without a phone number. when i try and use mine, i cant because its linked to my real apple ID. I dont know anyone with a phone number to use because everyone i know has an iPhone with their number linked to their apple IDs.

Hi pgleason83,

We'd love to see if we can help. What we would recommend is correcting the birthdates on their current accounts. As the family organizer, that would be the only way to remove them. Once that is completed, you can then remove the accounts. Note: If the account is set up for a child under 13, you will need to contact Apple Support via the link included in the information below.

Change a birth date for a child

To change a birth date to any age below 13,* you must be a member of a Family Sharing group, and your family organizer must approve the change. After you change a birth date to any age below 13, you can't edit it.*

  1. Update the birth date.
  2. Follow the onscreen steps to send an email request to your family organizer.
  3. Your family organizer will get an email with instructions to approve the request.
