Scam!

These may be Web site notifications similar to the ones described here.

[EDIT: Is this about an iPhone, as your tag line would seem to indicate? Or a Mac, as the forum choice would seem to indicate? If this is about a Mac, the User Tip applies directly. If this is about an iPhone, read on.]

I'm not running iOS 17, but I believe it may have support for Web site notifications – allowing spammers/scammers to abuse them on iPhones the same way they have been abusing them on Macs and other computers.

If this is it, the cure would be to block the notifications.

Poke around in Settings > Safari and see if you can find any controls analogous to the ones in the User Tip. If you find them, remove the permissions for the offending Web sites to send you notifications and block Web sites from even asking you for permission in the future. Hopefully you will find controls there.

Don't follow links in the notifications, don't install any apps the notifications tell you to install, and don't call any "Technical Support" numbers the notifications so "helpfully" provide.
