Same issue with our Verizon service. My wife and I have the same 15 Pro Max, and her Apps were working fine on cellular, and mine would not load up. I noticed she had her VPN turned on, but I didn't. When I turned it on It resolved most of Verizon's Data Throttling. That should be Illegal. We shouldn't need a VPN to use our phone!

To be fair, I must come back and recant some of what I have said. I have come to discover that the main issue I am having is because, as a Boost Infinite customer, I am being forced onto the AT&T network, which is not the best coverage in rural North Carolina where I live. Unfortunately, they won't switch me over to T-Mobile, so I will have to grin and bear it until they have their own infrastructure in place here in the future. However, that doesn't change the fact that iPhone hardware is inferior to that of Android phones. I had a ZTE phone on the Metro-PCS network back in 2018 that functioned better than this brand-new iPhone, which is absurd. Maybe, if Apple wasn't so greedy for money and outsourced some of this stuff, then they would put out a better product.

I've made some other posts but to me here is the smoking gun. In my neighborhood where the iPhone 15 Pro Max doesn't get cellular signal - my Apple Watch Ultra FIRST GENERATION does swimmingly. Unreal. And no, my arm is not metal and therefore a massive antenna (someone did ask me that on another forum - lol). Unsubscribing from this thread b/c the daily updates hurt my soul.

ill explain how I fixed my issue and might be the same for some of you.

for me, no trouble shooting vids on YouTube helped.

I reset cellular, toggled cellular in off to Apple Music, etc. I was about to do a full reset.

but then I noticed my Nord VPN which I don’t log into as I just got the phone was repeatedly trying to connect on cellular without a password.

I removed Nord VPN and everything works now. I reinstalled Nord with password and no issues now.

just an FYI to those of you with VPNs may have a similar issue.

I’m having the same issue on my brand new 15 Pro.

I upgraded from the X, and had the same issues on it but thought the upgrade would help. Nope. Still showing 1-2 bars on the LTE network instead of 5G. I’ve checked all my settings as per this forum. I have not attempted an eSIM yet as it seems only some people are having success.

Right beside me my husband has full bars on his Android. I’m on an offshoot of the same provider as him but they insist they do not throttle (in fact say that it is not possible to) so I am technically on the exact same provider.

Is this a problem then with the 15 itself? Should I have bought a 13 or 14 instead? I thought newer would be better.

I have Apple everything so stuck with it as it all syncs together but this is making me think about my next purchase. Might be switching to android.

I have been going back-and-forth with the same problem. I’ve done everything that I could’ve done. Most of my friends have an apple iPhone, and believe it or not, each and everyone of them has now problems with their wireless and data connectivity. One of my friends has an iPhone 13 and just as my iPhone 15 Pro Max, after updating to the newest software, has now issues like all of us. This is definitely a software problem and has nothing to do with our service provider. I hope Apple will fix this ASAP.

I am just chiming in here because I am very frustrated with my new iPhone15 ProMax!!! Having intermittent issues with cellular service, losing access and eSim info. It would go away then magically come back later?? I first thought my issue was just a bad eSim registration. So I went to my provider and had them install a new registration. Worked fine for about an hour, then lost bars but at least now can run on WiFi. That will probably disappear soon. Still planning to travel soon and will need regular cellular service.

My old iPhone 7 worked great - no issues.

This is why I have always hesitated buying the latest version of anything. Best to wait about a year and let everyone else work out the bugs!

Hope this gets worked out soon.

So my iPhone 15 pro max works beautifully now, after two months of absolute headache. I’m in the UK not the US but I’m hoping this will be the same fix regardless. My data was constantly loosing service and would not reconnect automatically, I had to use airplane mode on/off to reconnect.

i spent the whole of January speaking with my provider (o2) and after trying new SIM cards and them sending my phone the correct settings, and ‘apparently’ having had an engineer look into my issues I was told it now looks like it’s the phone itself, my newly bought 15PM.

There starts my numerous trips to Apple, firstly after an in-house text they changed the main module on my phone. I’m not too technically minded but was told it’s basically going to make it a new phone.

This did not work.

Then, after showing the Apple staff how, after being connected to their store WiFi and then walking out of the store I had no service, they gave me a completely new device.

Still the same issue.

I then bought an iPhone 14PM from Amazon thinking that the old device would be fine. No luck, that went back.

At the end of my tether now I bought an eSIM which was with another provider EE. This worked faultlessly.

so I had my answer, it was NOT the phone after all, it was my provider, o2 all along.

i called o2 and told them I was leaving as they were not providing a ‘fit for use’ service.

after speaking with various managers I was all set to leave and then, out of the blue received a text from o2 engineer dept telling me the problem had been fixed and to restart my phone for it now to be working properly.

i was just about to terminate my contract having been with o2 since 1998 (originally BT cellnet) so I did this last attempt, and it worked.

after what seemed to be so long and with me trying all possible routes it turned out to be a provider connection issue.

i am in the process of discussing compensation with my provider seeing as it was their fault all along.

Apple were great all along my journey and could see my fustration.

i did take out Apple+ care and they were willing to take the phone back for a full refund if things didn’t work themselves out. I cannot fault their service.

i hope this may help if you have the same data not automatically reconnecting itself issues.

I just upgraded to a 15max and immediately noticed my network having issues. I was using a 12 pro and had great network. I could watch live streams on twitch or movies etc… btw I also used a 6 pro or 6 iPhone and that ran very well but the iPhone 15max has been a nightmare! Forget watching movies if I can’t watch a 240p video on YouTube or twitch anymore. What did apple do to this iPhone? I’ve read thousands of comments on users not being able to use their network. Do we have to resort to buying another phone? I’m about to go back to Samsung if this phone doesn’t get a patch/update soon. It’s feb. 27 2024. Help us apple, please!

I want to submit an update to my complaints: it seems that my issue has been the AT&T network all along. I was on there through Boost Infinite (who insisted that AT&T was the best choice in my area). However, I did some research and a Boost Mobile retailer told me that T-Mobile is the best network in the area of North Carolina. After having a useless phone at work for the last two nights due to the WiFi being down, I decided to switch to T-Mobile last night. Now, I have superb network access with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. So, it could be more of the networks causing these problems rather than the phones themselve.

Same here. I am currently overseas in Thailand and basically my cellular service is useless when it comes to basic things besides texting. I have a iPhone 📱 14pro max with me currently and this phone has worked flawlessly overseas. My wife has the 13Pro Max and it too is working seamlessly overseas here in Thailand. The 15pro max cellular service is straight up garbage the fact this issue has not been addressed is mind blowing for a 1300 dollar device. I’m bewildered at the moment, thankfully I have my 14pro max ironically I am drafting this response on my 14pro

max. I simply could not even open this discussion on the 15pro Max.

Bought the iPhone 14 Pro Max last winter, faced cellular issues, had the motherboard replaced, and visited Apple stores with no resolution. A year later, iPhone 15 Pro Max still has the same problems. Both Apple and my provider blame each other. Despite tests showing no failures, the issue persists. Apple initially agreed to replace my phone, but the certified store insisted on a service center evaluation, leaving the problem unresolved. Considering trading in for the 15 Pro Max, but hesitating after reading similar comments. Frustration prevails as the ongoing issues persist.
