Hello all, as ist looks this problem occurs when you ever inserted an 2nd SIM-Card (or e-SIM) in one of your previous phones. It seems that the iPhone remembers that somewhere in the backups and it looks that this problem is typical for the iphone15 pro /Max. It does not occur when you set up your iPhone without an backup of your previous phone. As soon as i inserted a second mobile e-SIM by converting a simple pre-paid physical card into an e-sim (this process is supported by the iPhone itself) and additionally inserted my original card the problem disappeared. It would be interesting to know if that little trick fixes the problem in general.

After you have installed the eSIM and reinstalled your original SIM card don’t forget to check if “Allow Mobile Data Switching” is turned on. I think the iPhone turns it on by default but check anyway. It’s this switch that fixes the poor signal, it allows data to be used from both SIM cards. Thus each SIM card supports the other.

The bars aren’t the issue. It depends on the specific tower site. If it has the proper fiber, backhaul and density needed the tower site will perform properly on either 4G LTE or 5G. It really depends which 5G icon you see. If it’s just “5G” as an icon you see on any of the three Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T that’s their low band 5G which is barely a little faster than 4G LTE. If you see 5G UW (Verizon), 5G UC (T-Mobile), or 5G + (AT&T) then you’re most likely on their mid band 5G network the has more capacity for useable speed and data. Or you might tap into their millimeter wave spectrum which can give you gigabit speeds and a lot of much needed capacity that doesn’t lag. Also keep up to date on software updates. There’s always network updates to the phones cellular modem

I’m literally almost in tears bc this has wasted me days this week spending hours to connect to Verizon?? Then it’s back to this bs with the two cellular lines both not working.. i needed a working phone stat and have some really serious health issues going on. My Verizon agent who was very kind said he had the SAME ISSUE. I spent another 3 hours yesterday with no phone so only able to chat and it is already SOS no service… this really is unacceptable. I have no idea what this new phone even does because the whole time I’ve had it I’ve been trying to connect it racing trying to re-sign into everything.

My phone was a 13 and now a 14 Plus and I am having the same (or a similar) issue. Calls intermittently go straight to voice mail (and don’t show up in missed calls).

The 2 eSIMs didn’t work for me (and the 14 doesn’t have a slot for a physical). I added a month of T-Mobile and still had the problem. I also tried switching to eSIM (on my 13), restarting from new, and later upgrading to a 14 Plus.

The only thing that’s working for me to be able to receive calls is a Verizon network extender. It gives me 4 bars of cellular service instead of 2 bars, and then all calls go through. However, if I turn the extender off, the problem still exists.

And my husband has an Android and he receives all calls, even before the network extender.

Looks like an issue with IOS 17 software apple really need to fix this . I brought 15PM and changed it 3 times but no luck i had to refund it at the end . You can try reset network settings etc which will help getting cellular data back but it will disappear again after some time especially if you connect to wifi and turn off wifi it never go back to cellular data . Shockingly i purchased the same fone for my Mrs on the same day and hers is fine
