homepod firmware

I brought a first generation Apple HomePod some years back and it has been in storage. I attempted to set it up this week. I have an error that it can not connect to WiFi. I have been told that there is a new firmware needed. But without being able to connect to WiFi, I cannot connect to get the firmware. This is now a dust collector. Does anyone has a possible solution? Thank you.

Cannot connect to HomePod, even after resets I have a HomePod that constantly needs to be reset. Every time I leave the house for more than 3 days it needs to be reset. The only error I can see is "Unable to connect to HomePod". Nothing changes with my Wi-Fi, I bought a brand new router because of this. I have unplugged, waited a minute, then plug it back in. Restarting from the app. The only fix is to reset and re-add to Home app. Any suggestions? I really regret buying this thing.

HomePod mini stuck in downloading 17.2 Hi, I got today a new HomePod mini, checked the serial number on apple page and it is legit. the setup looked fine until it said that I had to wait for the firmware update 17.2. ive waited and waited, and nothing; I got the HomePod mini and my phone in the same room as the router, reset the HomePod multiple times, but still nothing. Tried again updating it with my iPad, and still nothing. on the home page it says “WiFi not connected” BUT I can stream music and if I ask Siri random questions, it works fine. I am getting frustrated now. :( any idea? thanks in advance!
