Microphone not working on iPhone 15 Pro Max

Hey! I had this EXACT same issue. I took it to Apple and found out my left microphone was not working. Thankfully it was

still under warranty so they changed the microphone for me and now it’s working again! But this seems like an issue with a lot of 15s which is ridiculous considering how much they cost. It is 100% the same issue so take it to the store to get it fixed.

I went to T-Mobile and found out I turned the microphone off by mistake so the problem was resolved

anyo who is having problems with their iPhone 15s and the microphone aspect I suggest going to ur cell provider bc they can resolve your issues

I think it has something to do with cases and them blocking the little sensor by your ear when you talk on the phone regular. The same one that turns the screen off. Idk it’s a guess but a well educated one. Because if I take my case off the speaker phone mic works fine. Its pretty **** annoying

You'll want to verify that you used the steps below during your prior troubleshooting:

Clear the microphones

1. Remove any screen protectors, films, or cases from your iPhone.

2. Clear any debris from the openings of your iPhone. 

If people can't hear you on phone or FaceTime calls

1. Open the Voice Memos app. 

2. Tap the Record button , speak at the bottom of your phone, then stop the recording. 

3. When you play back the memo, you should hear your voice clearly.

If people can't hear you when you're using speakerphone 

1. Open the Camera app.

2. Record a video while speaking at the top of your iPhone.

3. Tap the camera chooser  to switch to the other camera. Then record another video while speaking at the top of your iPhone.

4. When you play back the videos, you should hear your voice clearly.

Should that still persist, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support: Apple Support They'll be in the best position to look into this further.

It won’t fix by itself unfortunately! I had the same problem and had to get it fixed by Apple. The left microphone was not working properly so they replaced it for me

Not sure if this ever got resolved. But I’m still having issues. One thing I’ve noticed is that when I’m using a MagSafe charger, voice notes in WhatsApp work perfectly. The moment I take off the charger, it fails

the first time it happened i turned airplane mode off for a few minutes then back on and everything went back to normal for a few days. second time it happened i did the same thing and it worked again. now this 3rd time its happening airplane mode is not working. i have tried a force restart and that hasnt worked either. apple needs to look into this to get it fixed

I’m having the exact same problem with an iPhone 15 except that it’s intermittent.

Siri won’t work, voice memos won’t work, Waze voice commands don’t work. Phone calls work just fine.

Then it suddenly all starts working again. Seems to be occurring on an almost daily basis.

Had an online session with apple support and they say everything works fine - because it was at the time working.

Very frustrating after shelling out big $$$ for this upgrade only to wish I still had my old iPhone.

Apple needs to investigate this issue and get it fixed.

I got the iPhone 15 and one minute the microphone is fine and suddenly it’s just gone and I cannot figure out how to get it back

its the most frustrating thing bc its so much easier to record rather than type when also on the computer but I have tried everything suggested to get it back

i did an update that the phone showed was needed and then the little microphone on text messaging, email and everything else just vanished

I am going to go into Tmobile and if they can’t figure it out I am going to trade the phone back

I like this phone but the microphone is essential to me

Hello. I have 15pro max And THE SAME PROBLEM!!😫 calls is ok, video recording ok, but the messenger voices is very bad.

and I want to notice this problem come not from first day when I start using my phone, just after 1 month. I try everything but nothing is helping :(

Having issues just for calls on what ever app. Videos are all good. Somehow on voice memo and calls sounded very dim. Did all the fix recommended still do not fixed the issue. Been having iphone 15 pro max for a week now, only started making call today.

I got a replacement 15 pro max and it came like this. I’m so upset with apple. I have a trip coming up soon and this phone isn’t cheap for everything not to work. I know I broke it but it was an honest accident and to tell me that “there are other people experiencing the same problem. You can wait for an update or I can take it to apple to test it.” Try testing voice control before selling it to customers. No wonder they have a case about the iPhone 7 Plus.
