I hear static sound upon disconnecting usb c from my iphone 15 pro

Hooked up my new iPhone 15 Pro to my 2018 CRV for CarPlay using USB C to A Anker cable. Each time I disconnect the cable from my device, I hear like a static sound kind of like residual electricity charge. Is this normal? Anyone here experienced the same? Worried my phone may get fried in the long run

Hi, thank you for your suggestion. It seems the culprit was the Anker USB-C to USB 3.0 cable. When I used another Anker USB-C to USB 2.0 type cable, the static sound I heard from the former did not occur. For further observation

Hello Kingarthurs,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

We were able to find this in regards to CarPlay:

Connect your iPhone with a USB-C connector to CarPlay with the USB-C to Lightning Adapter

You can use the USB-C to Lightning Adapter with wired CarPlay in most vehicles. However, some combinations of adapters, cables, and vehicle entertainment systems might disrupt the wired CarPlay connection. In this situation or for cars that support only wired CarPlay, use a direct connection with a USB cable.

Additional details can be found here: If you need help with CarPlay

Are you able to test with another cable or adapter? Also, can you test with another iPhone to see if the same thing happens?

Cheers!
