"No Active Device Used for Your Location" message on iPhone

The fix is very easy. When your phone updated, you need to agree to the new terms of ios. We spent hours trying to figure it out. The reason iCloud and locations wasn’t active was because it was waiting for me to accept the new terms after the phone updated. The terms are on your iCloud screen. Just agree and then everything works again.

So, I was having the same problem with my dad's phone. I went on his settings, and noticed there were update messages, turns out, he had to agree to the terms and conditions. Once he did that, the location services worked again. :)

Hey! Idk if you figured it out or not but i signed out of my apple id and then turned my phone off for 60 seconds. I signed back in after it turned back on and was able to share the location after that

Here is my solution that worked:

Step 1 - In settings, open “Find My iPhone” and turn OFF the following:

-Share my Location

-Find my network

-Send last location

-Find my iPhone (you will have to input your iCloud password to turn off Find my iPhone)

Step 2 - Turn on Airplane Mode

Step 3 - Turn off your iPhone for at least 10 seconds

Step 4 - Turn on your iPhone

Step 5 - Turn off Airplane Mode

Step 6 - In settings, open “Find My iPhone” and turn ON the following:

-Find my iPhone

-Find my network

-Send last location

-Share my Location

Basically, I turned everything off and turned everything on again. It worked for me. I can’t guarantee it’ll work for everyone but it’s worth a try! Good luck!

this happened to me after the latest update :( i turned off my location services and find my iphone in settings and shut my phone off completely for a few minutes. when i turned it back on, i turned the location services and find my iphone on and everything worked!

This worked!!. I turned off my phone then powered it off for 10 seconds and it really does work thank you!!

Press the volume up down and quickly release it

Press the volume down button quickly and release

Hold The Lock Button And Hold it Until You See The Apple Logo Then Release It.

Hope That Helps It Worked For Me I Couldn’t Share My Location For Two Weeks.

You have to Reset All Settings !!

You have to update your phone to 17.3 and it will start working again

If the recommended settings and options are not resolving the matter, you've verified that you have no restrictions in place or configuration profiles which may impact these functions and it still doesn't work as expected, use Apple Support to investigate the matter further.

I had the same issue after loosing access to my apple wallet. I put my phone on airplane mode, turned everything off for about 10 seconds, turned my phone back on.. turned all my find my settings off, turned them back on and it worked. Hope it helps;

You have to accept the new terms and conditions. Open up your settings and follow the prompts.

Turn off “Find my” under location services. Turn your phone off then on. Turn on “Find my” again.

(Repeat this Process Three Times)
