Tricaster .mov files not importing to FCPX

The .mov files from our tricaster is mpeg2 and can't import into FCPX. Also doesn't get picked up by compressor and every file converter I tried doesn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I ran production for TV stations that used Trickster switchers, and NewTek uses a very outdated version of QT files. I've had several broadcast engineers confirm this for me over the years. Why NewTek can't get on-board with Apple's advances is beyond me.

You'll have to transcode them to QT files AGAIN using HandBreak. That's about all there is to it. Trust me, years of experience with this very issue that frustrated me to no end.
