changing battery SE (83) and back-up options

1) how likely is it if I use GeekSquad at BestBuy to change out my battery in Iphone that I will lose all data on it?

2) Can I just back up photos and contact list ?

Battery replacement will not result in any data loss, but it would still be a good idea to have a "full" backup before you take the phone in.
