It actually depends on if you’re buying a renewed or renewed premium device and the model you end up choosing. It is 6/27/24 and I had just received an iPhone 13 mini from Amazon renewed premium. It came in a plain Amazon renewed package with the device, a 10W mifi compatible charging block and cable, an inspection report checklist and the device had zero scratches or any other signs of cosmetic damage. I turned the device on, tested everything and it came with a battery health of 93% and upon checking in the AppleCare section in settings, it gave me the option to purchase AppleCare + so I went ahead and purchased a monthly subscription. I was completely shocked to find that! FYI, some of the times when you purchase a “renewed” device, it’s not really refurbished in any way and it is probably just a device that someone purchased, used for a week or two, returned to the manufacturer or mobile carrier, then ran through a cleaning and inspection process and then resold as a refurbished device for a significant discount. This is my second time purchasing an iPhone on Amazon renewed and I never really thought about checking the first one I’d bought (iPhone 13 pro) but there’s always a possibility if it’s a device that is still being sold by Apple or any device that had just been discontinued. In any case with Amazon renewed premium devices you get a full year warranty and 365 day return or replacement policy. For the price difference I would definitely recommend Amazon renewed premium, but Apple does have practically brand new devices just in a refurbished packaging, which is kind of sleek and you certainly will have the option to opt in to AppleCare+ I hope that somewhat gives you an idea. The only downside to Apple certified is that the selection is extremely limited. I’ve been looking at the site for a year and it seems to always have the same devices. 12 pro, 12 pro max, 11 pro max and 13 pro max.
