I followed the recommended link above to iPhoneTransfer, and when downloading it got an alert from Avast that it contained malware, FileRepPup [PUP]. Thing is, I previously tried AnyTrans and got a similar alert for a different PUP (which is why I looked further and ended up here). What's up? I don't find anything online saying 'all 3rd party iPhone backup apps contain PUP, don't worry', which is odd if this happens to everyone.

Do you want to view the text message? If so, then iTunes or iCloud can't do that. They can backup the messages in a whole file and unable to open it with any app. It is pure for backup purpose.

I was a big PhoneView fan. However, they went out of business and directed folks to iMazing. I don't like it quite as much, but it's very functional. And easy.
