Bluetooth speaker paired with MacBook Air no sound

I have a Bluetooth speaker that pairs with my MacBook Air, but no sound. I have gone into my Bluetooth and my sound settings, the air recognizes the speaker, but only uses the MacBook speakers for sound.

new iOS not connecting to bluetooth MacBook Pro Ever since Sonoma 14.0, I cannot successfully link to bluetooth devices. I have tried everything recommended. The speaker will give a sound signal that it is connected, and my computer will list it as connected, but no sound is transmitted.

Go to sound in settigns>scroll down a bit and select the bluetooth speaker as output device.
