Message notifications
I am not receiving message notifications the only way I know if I got new messages is by going to the message app and in settings notifications the option to allow notifications for message isn’t even there

Strange that Messages is completely missing from the Notifications settings pane. I would suggest a performing "Reset All Settings" on your device.
