I do not get a status message on my MacBook Pro, and photos from iPhone will not sync.

Using iPhone 12 and MacBook Pro. None of the suggestions from Apple Support apply. My photos just will not sync to my Mac.

I do not get a status message in the photo app on Mac.

My iCloud.com site works fine. But I cannot find how to get photos to upload to the Mac.

My iPhone apparently has the Photos synced with the iCloud as I can sort of see the 5,700 photos. I didn't check them all. I have 3 photo libraries apparently on my Mac. One stops at 2012. One in 2018. One in 2021. However, in all of those libraries on the Mac Photos, the total number of photos shows 1100. There are 5300+ in the iCloud. How do I get the Mac to sync. There is no status message after following the steps in that link. Any idea? PS When I make sure I've opened the Main Library I do see this. Haven't a clue as to what "5 items on this Mac only" means or how to filter for those to see them. None of the other libraries show a status. Would love to be able to merge those somehow but I'm sure that's another college level class :-)

Mac CAN'T restore photos from iCloud I get a Mac mini and want to sync my photos and videos on my iPhone to my Mac. Before synchronizing, I opened the iCloud photo on my iPhone and Mac, made sure that my iPhone and Mac use the same Apple ID, checked the internet. But the Mac photos app stuck on “Restoring from iCloud…”. I have tried many solutions like restart the Mac, sign out and sign in my Apple account, open and reopen the iCloud photo, repair the photo library. But the problem still can't be solved. Is there anybody has met the same issue with me? If so, could please offer me some advice?

Hello BlueDuke2,

Do you have iCloud Photos enabled on your Mac and iPhone? If so, keep in mind that this syncs your photos automatically and you won't see sync options for Photos in Finder.

If iCloud Photos is not enabled, we recommend working through the steps in this section of the macOS user guide: Sync photos between your Mac and iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
