I always install IOS updates via Itunes and this is already second time that IOS is out but Itunes wont let you install update because it is not latest version, why you not release Itunes update even before of IOS released?

Check your iTunes Help/About iTunes menu, which version does it list? If it is not the latest version (12.13.0.9) tap on Help/Check for Updates.

It's been a few days since your post (sorry for the delay in replying - life gets in the way), so I suggest that you try the update now ands see whether it works.
We've seen this issue in the past. Perhaps it is caused by too many users trying to update at the same time, so by now that issue should have resolved itself.
Out of interest, please let us know the outcome of your next attempt.
There seems to be an issue with itunes 12.13.0.9 version checks for myself. I am unable to update my iphone 15 to ios 17.1 because itunes always prompts me to update itunes to the latest version which I already have done.
I have tried reinstalling, delete and reinstall, delete and reinstall older version of itunes, but it always prompts me to update itunes to latest version in order to update iphone to ios 17.1.
I am tempted to using the restore button on itunes, but afraid of not completing the update process because something failed and I need to use itunes to restore the phone.
I think you've misunderstood what I wrote. I did not suggest waiting for a further update, I suggested waiting a couple of days to see whether the update is successful, using the same version of iTunes.
Whenever a popular update is released it causes a surge of people trying to download it at the same time. This can cause the sever to become overloaded which in turn can cause it to stop responding to requests. Hence my suggestion that once a few days have passed, perhaps the update will be successful.
I have been having the same issue. iTunes 12.12.10.1 could not update to 17.1 (error message about requiring newer version of iTunes). Now 17.1.1 has come out, and after upgrading to iTunes 12.13.0.9, getting the same message again. This is on Windows 10.
Would be useful to know if anybody has been able to use iTunes to perform an update to 17.1.1, or has Apple dropped support for using iTunes on Windows 10 to perform updates beyond 17.0.3, which was the last version I had been able to update to (using iTunes on Windows 10). Have not come across any documentation on this.

Hi I just checked and still no new version it is 12.13 which is not letting me update to iOS 17.1 , because I need to have update version of itunes to be able install iOS 17.1 , I always do my updated via Itunes and never use OTA so why this time after release of IOS more than a week no Itunes update?
ios 17.2 is out and a new update of itunes 12.13.1 as well. I still get same error message to update my itunes to latest version. I guess only a few are having issue with this. Trying on a different pc isn't an option as I do not have another.
Did you ever solve you issue. I just got the new 15 pro max and im trying to restore from my back up and itunes saying same thing your talking about. I have uninstalled itunes, reinstalled it. Up dated it for windows 10 64 and still same message.
