Hi EasterLily3,

If you are having trouble getting notification sounds, here are some steps you can try:

  • Check to see if you have a Focus turned on Use Focus on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Check the notification settings specifically for Messages, Change message notifications on iPhone. Make sure Alert Tones is not set to Note. You can also change the alert tone to see if other sounds work to help isolate this.
  • Navigate to Settings > Sounds & Haptics to make sure the volume slider is to the right. Also test by turning off Change with Buttons to make sure you are not accidentally turning the volume down for alerts. Change iPhone sounds and vibrations
  • Temporarily turn Bluetooth off in Settings > Bluetooth to make sure the sound is not being rerouted to a Bluetooth device. Set up and use Bluetooth accessories on iPhone .
  • If you have an Apple Watch paired with this iPhone, if your iPhone is locked or asleep, the notification will go to your watch instead of your iPhone.
  • As the app updates with the iOS, update your iPhone Update your iPhone or iPad.

Take care.
