MacOS: Contacts is now so Slow! Editing a Contact makes Spinning Ball freeze the application up!

For the last 5 years the MacOS Contacts application has been nearly unusable! Every time I select a Contact entry the system freezes. When I edit a Contact the system shows the spinning ball, and freezes.

This has been unacceptable and makes Contacts unusable!!!

I've been waiting for Apple to fix the bug, and after 5+ years and a ½ dozen new MacOS versions Contacts STILL freezes up!

Any suggestions how to correct this?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.7

The Contacts application is Syncing with how may different Web Services

Have seen some who use iCloud and another service experience this type of issue

In most cases the Other Service was Google Services.

If that is correct, try stopping the Sync to Google just long enough to Test

Create a new contact and see if you can make all the needed inputs

Does it work without the spinning ball, and freezes. ?

If yes, I thing you have found the culprit
