The music in the Apple Music app stops playing after one or a few songs after I updated to iPad OS 17.1. Even a force quit of the app does not help. Only a restart of the device helps.

Hi, similar problem since updating iPhone to 17.1. Tried closing down the music app, force restarting it, annoyed me all day! However just deleted the Music app, and reinstalled from the App Store and works completely fine now. Hope this helps 👍🏻

On iPad:
Tap settings.
Tap your name/account.
Tap Media and Purchases.
Sign out.
Then sign back in.
So far, my music is playing just fine now (huge relief!).

Just got off the phone with Apple tech support. On iPad, click on settings, click on your name, go to Media and Purchases, sign out, then sign back in. So far, my music is playing just fine now. Huge relief since I depend on my music quite a lot. Good luck, Everyone!!
Update to 17.2
They've finally fixed it! I keep testing and in half an hour it has never crashed. Do you have any feedback?
17.1.2 is now fully released and resolved the issue for me.
Restored to factory settings, basic setup done, into Music and it does exactly the same , one or two songs then it stops. Downloading doesn’t make any difference, still crashes. Looks like an Apple issue then. Great, no music.
Installed the version of 17.2 just released and after a full restart all is as before, no lockups of stalls. I hope everyone on this thread has some success as I suggested would be the case and just in time for Christmas, ho ho ho!
The new update seems to have fixed my issues with Apple Music and ipad 6th gen. ios 17.2 is working-I'm so relieved!
Just wanted to let everyone know that since updating my iPad to the latest 17.2 update my music has been playing like it used to - continues playing song after song without freezing. Hopefully it stays this way!!
OS 17.2 fixes the problem!
I followed Jenyu2013's advice and also updated to iPadOS 17.2 and it seems to have fixed the problem.
I’ve got a 7th gen iPad with the exact same problem. I spent a few hours with 3 different people from Apple Help, tried everything I’d already tried, and it still doesn’t work. It’s definitely an Apple problem, but no solution in sight.
DDobbins1 - mine did this so I rebuilt it from scratch, ie plugged it into my Mac Mini and wiped it then installed a new copy of 17.2. Its now fine.
Have you tried updating to 17.2?
17.1.2 is not the fix. 17.2 is.
