iOS 17 disabling Do Not Disturb

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 17, text notifications, phone calls, you name it have come through on my phone even when in regularly scheduled Do Not Disturb mode. I have disabled any people from not being silenced and thought the video that was recently shared about new features explained how to turn this off in the Haptics section… but that was only about the touch/feel of the phone.

I was woken up last night by both a phone call and a text message, so have resorted to turning all of my devices on full silent mode. Living in Paris with family and work colleagues in the US means I get messages at all hours. Help!

What happened with iOS 17 and how can Apple make Do Not Disturb a viable function again?
