time machine is not working

Thanks for your response. I have nothing else on my drives. The external drive is a toshiba 1 tb drive I erased the backup, excluded both of the files that didnt work before (see first page of thread) and it worked again. I think I will reinstall osx again to see if that makes a difference. Thx again.

Also as you recommended last time, i restored some of the photos from the backup and it worked fine except that a couple of pictures were deformed out of several thousand. The bottom of the pictures looked like a negative and were misaligned!!! That clearly is a problem.

by the way, applecare got back to me and they sent me a capture data app to send them more info so we will see. I hope it is a small problem that is fixable.
