Partition button Greyed out

I am trying to partition an external 2 TB SSD drive already formatted for Mac OS(journaled). Partition button is greyed out. Screen shot of the same is below. I have run First Aid and there is no issue. How do I make 2 partition of 1 TB each?

Thanks in advance for all the help

LR is already a partition; you can't "repartition" it. You need to partition the device (Samsung PSSD T7 ...).

At present you have a single 2TB partition (LR) on Samsung PSSD utilizing the entire space of Samsung PSSD. You will need to resize (shrink) the LR partition to free up space for the new partition you want to create. You do that via partitioning of Samsung PSSD. Once LR is resized, then, still on Samsung PSSD, you can add a partition using the space that was freed up from LR.
