Partitioning using "+" option on disk utility greyed out on my MacBook running macOS Sequoia.

I want to partition the SSD into 2 Drives, but Disk Manager will not allow me. The "+" is dimmed, and it says the size can not be changed. I can transfer files to the new SSD, OK, so it seems to be working OK. What am I doing wrong?

What format is the SSD, NTFS? You may need to erase it and pick APFS or HFS+ first, then you could partition it.

If you format it APFS, then you don't need to partition it anyway, you can just add extra APFS volumes in the same container.
