Opacity level in markup

Did Apple change what they consider to be 100% opaque in the markup feature for photos about a year ago? I used to use this a lot to edit my photos but now when I want to block something out, I can still see through it.

Yes, it appears that 100% opaque is no longer blocking for some of the mark up tools.

I used the highlighter tool all the time before this upgrade.

I’ve switched to the crayon tool as it is quite wide and still 100% opaque.

Depending on what you wish to block you might find the square or another shape in Markup under “+” would work. Unfortunately at this time those shapes don’t maintain the last selected options so start fresh everytime and the outline is a separate colour, width, opacity choice lol. If you like pale grey that is the preset.

before & after re highlighter - the “highlighter” I guess is more like a highlighter but I miss the 100% opaque, bright, covering blocking colours …
